For over 30 years, Strattman Design has been a leading innovator in glass and lighting technologies, creating kinetic plasma displays for museums, tradeshows, interiors, industry and arts. We supply the majority of the world’s large-scale plasma globes to science museums, and produce unique special effects lighting products for a wide range of applications.
Each piece is made to order and will ship internationally.
Made from strong borosilicate (Pyrex) glass, our plasma displays are designed to last for long-term use.
The blown glass shapes are filled and sealed with special mixtures of inert rare gases. When electrically charged, these gases ionize to create interactive moving light displays. Our gas mixtures produce a wide range of colors, shapes and effects that have been proven reliable and stable for many years of use.
Each display is matched to a custom power supply that can be adjusted to vary the speed, intensity and visual effects of the light.
Most of our customers prefer to fabricate their own base to mount their plasma display to fit with their particular installation plans. It is important to note that bases should be constructed of a non-conductive material such as wood or plastic; metal bases can interfere with the functioning of the display. We provide consultation upon request regarding installation concerns.
